Hershey, Pennslyvania

One Saturday a bunch of us decided to make the 2 hour trek over to Hershey, Pennsylvania.  This is the town where chocolate is made.  Milton Hershey created a whole city around their chocolate plant.  They have a theater, zoo, amusement park, schools and everything.  It was all for the families there.  It is quite impressive.  We toured the whole city and did a special tour to learn how they make the chocolate.  We wanted to come back to do the amusement park with Ryan but we ran out of time.  What a neat place. The boys thought this was really fun!

Brandywine Zoo

The nearby city of Wilmington had it own zoo that we decided to hit up one evening to get out!  It was small but fun to visit.  It was in a cute part of town along the river with huge trees and such.  Once again it was super hot but the kids really liked the tigers and otters there.

Please Touch Museum

The Please Touch Museum was one of our favorite places to visit in Philadelphia.  It was enormous!  There were so many things for the kids to see and do.  They spent the whole day exploring this children's museum.  There was everything from a McDonald's to an Alice in Wonderland.  We really wanted to go back but there just wasn't enough time.  I think the boys favorite things was the excavator!

A few funny pics!

Kade and Jeff had to spend a lot of time playing together and being brothers.  They started sharing a room but many nights preferred falling asleep on the couch!

Jeff has become quite obsessed with Ironman.  I found him hiding in the closet with a red marker doing this to himself because he wants to be Ironman.

Eclipse Premier

I was really sad to not get to go see Eclipse with my mom and sisters but these girls made it super fun!  The movie ended up being just as I had imagined.

D.C. Temple Trip

A few girls, us and all our kids did a quick trip to the DC Temple.  It was wonderful!  The kids got to spend some time walking the grounds and at the Visitors Center.

Linvilla Orchards

The girls decided it would be fun to go orchard picking on a Saturday so we headed to the Linvilla Orchards.  We picked peaches and raspberries and had lunch in their little bakery.  It was all very delicious!  The kids got to play on the playground there that was really cool. It was all made of wood.  Then we visited the deer exhibit before we left.  Once again it was blistering hot but we all survived and had  a great time!

Delware Beaches

I loved the beaches in Delaware!  We went there 2 or 3 times while we were there!  They were clean and beautiful.  The towns near by with beach homes were so quaint and the boardwalk in Rohobath was fun too!  The kids loved playing in the waves and in the sand.  Ryan spent a lot more time there than us when we were not with him.  He loves surfing the waves.  I wish we could have spent more time there but it took about 2 hours to get there and on the weekends there was a bit of traffic.
